I added the Gambit #18 cover by Jim Starlin to my collection today. The cover features Gambit, Deadpool, Bullseye, Sabretooth, Belladonna, and Batroc as chess pieces in the Assassination Game storyline. I can't get a good scan of it and my camera is broken. Talk about bad luck. In the meantime check out the image as it was taken with my phone.

I was considering bidding for this beautiful cover (but didn't, so I'm not the reason for your final price). You got a true gem here, as not only does this piece have nice depiction of many major players, but the concept of the cover is a neat idea - since the word GAMBIT actually refers to a chess move (!). So what did I buy instead ? Feel free to check out my CAF gallery... I'm SURE you'll like it... Cheers, Gal
